Note that the situations have been selected to
cover a range of cases, in which the insulated object is cooler, warmer
or at the same temperature as the background, and in which the background
may be cooler, warmer or the same as room temperature. Also note
that of the abstract pictures only 1, 5 and 9 show possible changes (2
and 8 are possible if you allow the existence of a perfect insulator).
